Monkey Island by Runners Adventures

"Monkeyland Puerto Plata was hands down one of our favorite excursions we’ve ever done! We booked directly through Royal Caribbean, and from start to finish, everything was seamless and top-notch. The bus coach was practically brand new!spacious, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. Our bus driver truly set the tone for the day. He was knowledgeable, entertaining, and full of personality, sharing fun facts and laughs along the way. He genuinely made the excursion even more enjoyable and had everyone excited before we even arrived. And then… the monkeys! 🐒 The squirrel monkeys were absolutely adorable! gentle, playful, and full of personality. Our family completely fell in love with them. What stood out most to us was how clean, well cared for, and happy they were. There was no smell at all, and it was very clear that their well being is a top priority. Animal care is something we truly value, so seeing how healthy and content the monkeys were meant everything to us. We had plenty of time to interact with the monkeys, take photos, and capture videos! never felt rushed, which made the experience even more special. It was pure joy watching them climb, play, and interact so comfortably with guests. To top it all off, the chocolate tasting was delicious and a fun bonus at the end of an already amazing experience. This excursion was fun, heartwarming, and incredibly memorable. We laughed, smiled nonstop, and made memories we’ll treasure forever. If you’re cruising to Puerto Plata, do yourself a favor and book Monkeyland! you will not regret it. We had an absolute blast and would do it again in a heartbeat!"

"The monkeys are super cute, they are also very friendly. They are lead by the tour leader, who directs them using Seeds. Thrh will climb, jump, and sit on your head arms and back. It is best to go as early as possible, as they haven't eaten much, and it is less likely for you to get poo or pee on you (the are monkeys and they do what they do). They staff is helpful and polite. They have a great sense of humor as well. There is a place to put things like bags and backpacks, it is really just a box with no lock. It is however inside the cage doors (before the monkey enclosure). They have real lockers that do lock, but charge for them. I did not see the necessity due to the semi secure nature of the storage box. Beware! The staff tells you NOTHING IN YOUR POCKETS! they mean it! Those curious little gremlins will find there way in to any pocket they can, and it's contents will be removed! It is overall a short but fennel experience, I highly recommend."

"My mom and I went on a cruise back in August and did the city tour and the monkey land experience through runners and had an absolute blast going around the city was so nice and so fun we got to see a lot of different things then we ended up going to monkey land and we had like 45 minutes with the monkeys. It was so much fun. We had an absolute blast. The monkeys were so sweet. All the staff was so nice. Our tour guides were super sweet. and then we even got to try some of their freshly made coffee, hot chocolate and mama Juana. Definitely worth it such a fun experience!"
